WEIGHT AND VOLUMETRIC WEIGHT
These two aspects have an influence on the price of their delivery, especially if the shipment is made abroad. The weight is actually an important aspect that contributes to the determination of the price of sending the package but its volume, that is to say the space it occupies, is just as much. As a rule, trucks, but also planes or containers are full well before their maximum authorized weight is reached. This is why the price of transport is calculated according to the volumetric weight.

The volumetric weight is therefore the most important parameter to consider when sending large parcels, at least as far as the final price is concerned. To determine the volumetric weight, one must first calculate the size of the package, which is obtained by multiplying the width by the length by the height. Take the example of a package measuring 90 x 77 x 130 cm, its volume will be 0.9 cubic meters. Once the volume is calculated, multiply the volume by a coefficient, namely the cubic capacity, which can vary according to the carrier, but which is normally between 200 and 300. If the cubic capacity indicated by the carrier is by example 200, the volumetric weight of our package will be 0.9 x 200 = 180 kg.
