    News 2025. 6. 2. 17:50

Unfortunately, it is impossible to prevent the natural processes of skin aging, changes that occur during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and the initial effect will change over time. How long the effect will last depends mainly on the individual characteristics of the body, your lifestyle and compliance with the plastic surgeon's recommendations for breast care.

    Breast lift
Breast lift (mastopexy) is aimed at recreating the natural shape and elasticity of the breast, which may have been lost for several reasons: pregnancy and breastfeeding, significant weight loss, age-related changes in both the skin and the mammary gland itself.

During mastopexy, the surgeon removes excess skin, restores the shape of the breast tissue, and repositions the nipple to create natural breast proportions. This procedure can also reduce the size of an overly large areola.

To assess whether you are eligible for a breast lift, you should consult a plastic surgeon. We will provide several questions that will help you more accurately determine the need for mastopexy and more accurately imagine its results.

    Answering frequently asked questions
Are your nipples below the inframammary fold (fold under the mammary gland)? You can do a simple test: stand in front of a mirror, take off your bra, take a strip of paper and place it under the mammary gland, if the nipple is below the upper edge of the paper, you have ptosis (drooping) of the mammary gland, which is an indication for a breast lift.

Do your nipples point downward? Over time, the skin on the top of the breast becomes loose and stretches, causing the weight of the breast tissue to cause the nipple to move downward. A breast lift moves the breast tissue so that the nipple is lifted and its angle changes so that it points forward.

Are you satisfied with the size of your breasts when you put on a bra? A breast lift itself does not change the size of your breasts, but only their shape. Therefore, if you want to enlarge or reduce your breasts, these surgeries can be combined.
Do you have asymmetrical breasts? During a breast lift, the surgeon works with the shape of the mammary gland, so during this procedure, the symmetry of the mammary glands is restored.

In aesthetic surgery, there are a number of breast lift techniques, all of which are designed for different structural features, initial volume, and degree of sagging of the mammary gland. In areolar mastopexy, the incision is made along the contour of the nipple. This technique is suitable for correcting moderate sagging of the mammary gland, with a slight decrease in skin tone.

In case of significant ptosis of the mammary gland and significantly decreased skin tone, vertical mastopexy techniques are used (two incisions are made: one along the edge of the nipple, the second from the lower pole of the nipple vertically down to the submammary (under-reast) fold) or vertical mastopexy with an additional incision in the submammary fold, which repeats the semicircular shape of the fold.

A plastic surgeon will definitely tell you about the most suitable technique for your individual case, aimed at recreating the natural beauty of your breasts.

In some cases, it is impossible to achieve the desired result with a breast lift alone. If you want your breasts to become not only more toned and firm, but also more voluminous and full, then combining a breast lift and breast augmentation with implants (hyperlink to this section) or  lipofilling  will give you the desired result.

Breast lift is usually performed under general anesthesia, after which you will be able to go home shortly for further recovery. You will need to wear a special compression bra for several weeks after the operation. For several weeks, there may be pulling, unpleasant sensations in the area of he intervention, there may be swelling and temporary decreased sensitivity in the area of the incisions.

You should limit physical activity for up to 4 weeks, all training should be agreed with your plastic surgeon. In everyday life after the operation, it is recommended to wear a bra with an optimal level of support to maintain the effect of the operation as long as possible. Most patients return to normal daily activity within a week. Within 1 week, you can return to work if your job does not require intense physical activity.
